British actress Tilda Swinton has insisted that she is unmoved by the prospect of winning an Oscar at Sunday's ceremony.

The 47-year-old, who is nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category for George Clooney thriller Michael Clayton, said she did not understand the fuss surrounding the event.

She told the BBC: "I'm so happy Michael Clayton is getting recognised. I think it's a rocking film and I'm so happy to be associated with it. But I have a sense awards mean more to other people than me and I feel guilty.

"Maybe I need to go on a course to be told how great it is. It's all blabbermouth to me. I don't know what it means."

Swinton won a Best Supporting Actress BAFTA for the movie, which is nominated for a total of seven Academy Awards.
