The montage failed to acknowledge Renfro's passing, while Heath Ledger's tribute was met with emotional applause when he was honoured last.
Renfro was found dead in his LA home last month from "acute heroin/morphine intoxication".
The actor struggled to deal with fame after becoming a child star in 1994's The Client and battled drug addiction for most of his life. In 2006 he spent 10 days in jail for trying to buy heroin from an undercover police officer.
Renfro also starred in Sleepers, Apt Pupil and Ghost World.
The actor's last film The Informers, in which he co-stars with Billy Bob Thornton and Winona Ryder, is tentatively scheduled for a release later this year.
