Asked to explain the meaning of "Quantum of Solace" on the Oscars red carpet, the filmmaker told MTV: "I have no idea. It's not my title."
Daniel Craig revealed that the title is "an Ian Fleming statement. It comes from the idea that in a relationship, if you don't have a quantum of solace left in your relationship, then give up.
"It also applies to something very important in the plot," Craig added.
Quantum of Solace was the title of a short story in Bond author Ian Fleming's For Your Eyes Only collection.
