The 41-year-old boxer announced he will train the Ray star, saying: "Jamie Foxx and I will be working together. He will play me in the film about my life. We have already had several discussions about it."
Tyson won two world heavyweight boxing championships but his career went into decline after he was sent to prison for rape in 1992. He shocked the sports world in 1997 when he bit off a chunk of opponent Evander Holyfield's right ear in a Las Vegas fight.
Tyson admitted that he struggled with alcoholism during the height of his success.
"Even when I was training for a fight I would drink. This is the first time I have been clean and sober in my whole life."
