Warner Bros launches 'Justice League'

Rex Features

Warner Bros is lining up its superhero action film Justice League for a 2009 release, reports Variety.

The film was set to go into production earlier this year but the studio shelved the project during the WGA strike because the script was in need of a rewrite.

Director George Miller (Mad Max, Happy Feet) is currently preparing the film for production in Australia.

The movie follows DC Comics' top superheroes as they unite to form the crime-fighting Justice League.

Adam Brody (The Flash), Common (Green Lantern), Armie Hammer Jr (Batman) and Megan Gale (Wonder Woman) are all expected to star.

The studio yesterday announced a May 22 release date for the next Terminator film. Where the Wild Things Are and Watchmen are the only other films that Warner Bros has scheduled for that year.
