Ferrell's 'Semi-Pro' tops US box office

Will Ferrell's latest sports comedy Semi-Pro has topped the US box office chart on its first week of release. However, the film's $15,200,000 opening weekend is significantly less than Ferrell's last comedy Blade of Glory, which grossed over $33 million on its first weekend of release.

Period drama The Other Boleyn Girl at four and Christina Ricci film Penelope at eight were the only other new releases in the chart.

No Country For Old Men jumped back into the top ten on the back of its Oscars success, with a 66% increase in ticket sales.
