Marvel is considering making a CGI-animated Avengers film in the style of Beowulf.
Zak Penn, who is writing the superhero film, told Collider that Marvel is considering producing the film utilizing cutting edge computer graphics.
"There's been the discussion about the Avengers, doing some sort of next level... Whatever the next iteration of computer animation is after this, the next step after Beowulf, is something we would definitely consider for that," Penn said.
The Avengers are a superhero team that first appeared in Marvel Comics in 1963. Characters such as Captain America, Thor, Iron Man and the Hulk feature in the lineup.
Robert Downey Jr and Edward Norton, who star in the upcoming Iron Man and Hulk films, may reprise their roles in the Avengers.
Warner Bros is aiming to release a similar film, Justice League, in 2009. The movie includes DC Comics heroes Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman uniting to fight evil.
