A big-screen adaptation of forthcoming book 8 Simple Rules for Marrying My Daughter is in the pipeline.
W. Bruce Cameron's semi-autobiographical work is the sequel to 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter, which became a hit US TV show starring late actor John Ritter.
Cameron is adapting the book into a comedy alongside Cathryn Michon, author of the Girl Genius Guide book series.
It will be produced by Wendy Finerman, whose previous credits include The Devil Wears Prada and Forrest Gump.
The movie centres on a divorced dad struggling to handle a younger girlfriend and two daughters who become engaged at the same time.
Cameron's book will be published next month.
