German movie producer and director Uwe Boll has announced his movie based on the hit video game Postal will go head-to-head with the new Indiana Jones film at the box office.
The movie, which is due out May 23, stars Zack Ward as the Postal Dude alongside Austin Powers' Mini Me Verne Troyer and Seinfeld's Soup Nazi Larry Thomas.
While Uwe Boll predicted “We will go out and destroy Indiana Jones at the box office," Vince Desi, CEO of games developer Running with Scissors, added: "We’re ecstatic that a release date has been set, and to have Universal behind it is all the sweeter. We’ve been working overtime developing Postal III for PC and console and our fans have been waiting to see this movie for a long time now.”
The original Postal PC game, which was released in 1997, was a 2D shooter with mostly isometric backgrounds with the player's goal to stay alive, reach the next level and also to execute a given percentage of the armed computer-controlled characters.
Postal III is currently in development for PC and Xbox 360 and is due for release later this year.
