Speaking to Extra, the actress said: "It was intimidating. I was kind of nervous the first day I was there, I have to say, although Mike does a good job of diffusing any of that. But he's the boss and you have to make sure that the boss is happy - he didn't yell at me."
Myers, known for voicing the title character in Shrek and creating the Austin Powers franchise, co-wrote The Love Guru and stars alongside Alba, Justin Timberlake and Ben Kingsley.
Alba, who is expecting her first child with Cash Warren, added: "I was honoured first of all that he (Mike) asked me to be a part of it.
"Going on set every day, he multi-tasks like no other. He has so much passion and heart and conviction with everything he's doing in the film, certainly with the message, the comedy and the combination of the two.
"I'm personally a fan of Eastern philosophy and the fact that this movie revolves around something that I feel is nothing but positive energy to put out into the world, is great."
