Orlando Bloom has been replaced by Dominic Cooper (The History Boys) in Lone Scherfig's An Education, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Bloom left the film due to a scheduling conflict.

An Education - which recently added Alfred Molina and Sally Hawkins to a cast including Peter Sarsgaard, Rosumund Pike and Emma Thompson - is described as a coming-of-age drama set around '60s London that sees a 17-year-old (Carey Mulligan) swept off her feet by a thirty-something playboy (Sarsgaard).

Nick Hornby wrote the film based on Lynn Barner's autobiographical essay.

Shooting on the BBC film began today and continues in London, Oxford and Paris until May.
