According to Variety, Warner Bros has purchased the rights to the Alexis Nolent creation and has given Mangold the job of helming the movie.
Nolent's Cyclops is an action-adventure story of mercenary forces that are forced to wear Cyclops-style headgear fitted with cameras so that their actions can be broadcast in people's living rooms.
However, one mercenary soon realises that he is fighting for commercial gains as much as for people's freedom.
Speaking about the novel, Mangold said: "It is an electrifying package you find in the best sci-fi - great action sequences combined with themes that are eminently foreseeable."
