Stardust director Matthew Vaughn will co-write and direct a big-screen version of the comic book Kick-Ass, reports Ain't It Cool News.
The filmmaker will work on the script with Stardust writer Jane Goldman.
Kick-Ass, written by Mark Millar and drawn by John Romita Jr, portrays the life of high school student Dave Lizewski, who becomes obsessed with the idea of real-life superheroes. After constructing a costume, the character becomes a crime-fighting vigilante.
Vaughn, who previously produced films for Guy Ritchie, also directed 2004's Layer Cake.
