British actress Jemma McKenzie-Brown has landed a role in High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

The Londoner, whose previous TV credits include the BBC's The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard, has been cast as a sophomore 'Wildcat' in the Disney movie.

She will be joined by new recruits Matt Prokop (Hannah Montana, The Office) and Justin Martin, who starred with Snoop Dogg in Raisin in the Sun as well as playing Young Simba in the Broadway version of Disney's The Lion King. Martin will also appear opposite Jamie Foxx in upcoming film The Soloist.

The relatively unknown trio beat more than 1,000 other actors to the roles.

Original cast members Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lucas Grabeel, Corbin Bleu and Monique Coleman will also return for the final instalment of the hit franchise.

The movie begins shooting later this month and will be released in US cinemas on October 24.
