Connery tempted to play Bond baddie

Sir Sean Connery has said he would consider playing a villain in a James Bond movie.

Connery, who played the superspy in seven films up to 1983, revealed that he was tempted to return as a baddie.

However, the 77-year-old said he would need a bumper pay-cheque to persuade him to come out of retirement.

He told My Weekly: "I wouldn't mind coming back as a Bond villain. But I don't think they would pay me enough.

"They don't pay the money for other parts, only for the Bond character, although that wasn't the case when I was doing it."

He also praised current 007 Daniel Craig, saying: "I think [he's] a terrific choice. I think they're going back to a more realistic type of Bond movie as I don't think they could have gone much further with the special effects."
