Mos Def joins cast of 'Cadillac Records'

Rapper Mos Def has joined the cast of Cadillac Records.
Def, who recently appeared alongside Jack Black in Be Kind Rewind, will play rock 'n' roll legend Chuck Berry in the 1950s period movie.
Beyoncé Knowles is acting as executive producer of the project, in which she stars as blues singer Etta James.
The film tells the story of Chicago-based record company Chess Records and the activities of its stars, which included Berry, Muddy Waters and Howlin' Wolf.
Adrien Brody is on board to play label founder Leonard Chess, while Jeffrey Wright, Cedric the Entertainer, Columbus Short and Tammy Blanchard are also among the cast.
Former TV director Darnell Smith is directing from his own script.
