Rhames, Pike join Willis in 'Surrogates'

Ving Rhames and Rosamund Pike have signed up for sci-fi thriller The Surrogates.

Bruce Willis and Radha Mitchell star in the Disney movie, based on the graphic novel by Robert Venditti and Brett Weldele of Top Shelf Comix.

It depicts a future where humans live in isolation and interact through surrogate robots who are younger, more attractive versions of themselves.

Willis stars as a cop whose surrogate investigates the murders of others' surrogates, while Pike will play his wife and Mitchell his co-worker. Rhames will take the role of a cult figure who tries to head a rebellion against the "new world order". Ned Vaughn also stars.

Jonathan Mostow is directing from a script by Terminator 3 writers Michael Ferris and John Brancato.

Shooting is scheduled to begin in Boston later this month.
