'North Wind' comic heads for the big screen

The Boom Studios science fiction comic book North Wind has been optioned for film, The Hollywood Reporter says.
Davis Entertainment will produce the movie with writer David DiGilio (ABC's Traveller) adapting the five-part comic series.
The story revolves around a futuristic America that has been hit by a new ice age following global warming. Survivors live under the ice and are ruled by a dictator who faces a revolution after he exiles one of his citizens.
Boom's co-founders Andrew Cosby and Ross Richie will produce the film along with John Davis.
The first three North Wind comics have been released in stores and as digital downloads on MySpace.
