A hip-hop musical version of Jane Austen's novel Emma is in the works.
Screen Gems boss Clint Culpepper said the story will be moved to an inner-city high school attended by a step-brother and sister.
Emme, to be written by Tyger Williams (Menace II Society), will include at least 15 song and dance numbers.
Culpepper told Variety that he came up with the idea while watching the video for Lil Mamma's single 'Lipgloss'.
He said of the project: "Now it's urban. This is the way it should be reimagined in the new millennium."
The book previously inspired hit 1995 comedy Clueless.
