Bestselling French novel The Scent of Adam is to be made into a movie.
Jean-Christophe Rufin's book revolves around a young activist who finds himself involved in the eco-terrorist movement and a global conspiracy when he frees animals from a research lab in Poland.
Variety reports that Lakeshore Entertainment and France's TF1 International are to co-produce the adaptation.
Rufin is the French ambassador to Senegal, as well as a doctor and self-proclaimed part-time spy. The book was a bestseller in France under the name Le Parfum d'Adam and has been published in more than 20 countries. It will also be released in the US.
