Rob Corddry has been cast in Oliver Stone's George Bush biopic W, MTV reports.

The former Daily Show correspondent will play press secretary Ari Fleischer in the film. Fleischer served the Bush administration from 2001 to 2003 and was renowned for passionately defending his boss in the wake of the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Corddry joins a cast that includes Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Banks as President Bush and First Lady Laura, James Cromwell and Ellen Burstyn as George's parents, former President George H.W. Bush and wife Barbara, Thandie Newton as Condoleezza Rice and Ioan Gruffudd as Tony Blair.

Several George Bush experts recently criticised Stanley Weiser's leaked script, which Stone plans to shoot later this month.
