Distribution giant Universal has picked up the international rights to Ricky Gervais comedy This Side Of The Truth.
The movie, which will be the comedian's feature directorial debut, sets up a world where the human race can only tell the truth. A writer (Gervais) patents the first lie and uses it to become a star.
Jennifer Garner, Rob Lowe and Louis CK are also lined up to appear, along with John Hodgman, Tina Fey, Christopher Guest, Jonah Hill and Jeffrey Tambor.
The film is co-written and directed by Gervais and Matthew Robinson.
Shooting starts in Boston on Monday.
Gervais recently announced that he will reteam with Stephen Merchant for '70s set British comedy The Men at the Pru.
