Universal has purchased the film rights to the LA Weekly article How to Get Divorced by 30, Variety reports.
The piece's author Sascha Rothchild theorises that it is best to begin with a "starter marriage" before finding your ideal partner. She gives readers 15 steps to help them end their first marriage. The film version will show the female protagonist have her perceptions altered during her road-test marriage.
Marc Platt and Dana Fox will produce the film.
Platt's next movie is Wanted, while Fox is the writer for the marriage comedy What Happens in Vegas..., which stars Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz.
