Osunsanmi, a former assistant to Smokin' Aces helmer Joe Carnahan, sets the film in Alaska. The fact-based thriller revolves around unexplained disappearances over the last 40 years amid accusations of government cover-ups.
Jovovich will play a woman investigating the disappearances.
The movie is scheduled to begin production in June with Paul Brooks from Gold Circle Films, along with Carnahan and Terry Lee Robbins acting as producers.
Jovovich is known as the star of the Resident Evil films. She will next be seen in David Twohy's thriller A Perfect Getaway.
