Chastain joins Pitt in 'Tree of Life'

Jessica Chastain is to star opposite Brad Pitt in new drama Tree of Life.

The film, written and directed by Terrence Malick, also features Sean Penn in a supporting role.

It depicts the loss of innocence as seen through the eyes of the son of Pitt and Chastain's characters, reports Variety.

Pitt replaced late actor Heath Ledger in the lead role a month before his death in January.

The movie is currently filming in Texas.
