Scott takes helm of 'The Kind One'

Ridley Scott is to direct and produce period noir thriller The Kind One.

Casey Affleck is already on board to star in the Warner Bros film, according to Variety.

It is based on a script by Tom Epperson from his own novel.

The story revolves around an amnesiac (Affleck) in 1930s LA who is told he works for a sadistic mobster nicknamed 'The Kind One'. He ends up falling for the killer's girlfriend after being asked to keep an eye on her.

The movie is co-produced by Sean Bailey, who worked with Affleck on crime drama Gone Baby Gone.
