The 32-year-old will play a member of the resistance against the artificial intelligence system Skynet.

Christian Bale, Sam Worthington and Anton Yelchin have already been cast in the sci-fi action film.

Shooting is scheduled to begin on May 5, with the Warner Bros film being targeted for a May 22, 2009 release.

The script is currently being redrafted by Paul Haggis (Casino Royale, Crash).

Bloodgood's previous work includes the NBC series Journeyman and the upcoming Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.
