Amy Smart on board for 'Crank 2'

Amy Smart is to reunite with Jason Statham in Crank 2: High Voltage.

The Just Friends star will reprise her role as the girlfriend of hitman Chev Chelios (Statham) in the film, from original writer/directors Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor.

The sequel pits Chelios against a Chinese mobster who replaces his heart with a battery-powered ticker which needs regular jolts of electricity to run.

Dwight Yoakam, Efren Ramirez and Chinese actress Bai Ling also star.

The first Crank film cost £6 million to produce and grossed £22 million at the box office.
