James Caan has quit political comedy Nailed after a row over the best way to suffocate on a cookie.
Caan was shooting a small role as a US politician who chokes to death when he ended up at loggerheads with director David O. Russell.
The Hollywood Reporter claims the actor objected to Russell's suggestion that he should cough, saying it was not possible to cough and choke at the same time.
He reportedly walked off the set when Russell insisted on filming the scene both ways.
The movie also stars Jessica Biel, Jake Gyllenhaal, James Marsden, Catherine Keener and Tracy Morgan.
Russell has experienced "creative differences" with both George Clooney and Lily Tomlin on previous films.
