Insects scupper Dempsey's kilt plans

'Grey's Anatomy'

Patrick Dempsey has admitted that he had to wear underwear beneath his kilt after being attacked by midges on the set of his new movie.

The Grey’s Anatomy actor was keen to uphold the tradition of going commando under the garment while filming comedy Made of Honour in Scotland.

However, he was forced to rethink his plans after proving irresistible to the area's insect population.

He told the Daily Record: "At one point, when we were shooting outside a castle, we could barely get the shot because there were so many midges around the lens.

"We had to get a little hairdryer on to blow them away. They got everywhere... and I mean everywhere."
