Fox 2000 is planning a remake of Brian De Palma's 1978 film The Fury.
Variety reports that Brian McGreevy and Lee Shipman will write the new version of the supernatural horror film.
The remake focuses on a man with kinetic abilities who is abducted by government officials hoping to harness his powers.
De Palma's original, based on a novel by John Farris, starred Kirk Douglas, John Cassavetes and Amy Irving. The director later went on to helm Scarface, The Untouchables and Mission: Impossible.
Screenwriters McGreevy and Shipman landed the job based on their serial killer script Of Every Wickedness.
