Author Tom Wolfe has agreed a deal for a big screen version of his 2004 novel I Am Charlotte Simmons.
The adaptation will be the first since the poorly-received Bonfire Of The Vanities movie in 1987.
Variety reports that Liz Friedlander (Take The Lead) will helm the project, which revolves around the sexual exploits of a freshman Ivy League student.
Friedlander is best known for directing videos for artists including U2, REM and Celine Dion.
