Gwyneth Paltrow has revealed that she broke her knee on the set of new movie Iron Man.
The actress tried to continue working despite the injury but was eventually forced to undergo surgery.
She was photographed walking with crutches while filming the blockbuster last June, but refused to confirm what had happened at the time.
Paltrow said: "I broke my knee - because I'm a moron and I'm always bashing into things by accident. I've broken my toes 30 times. I don't know what's wrong with me. I bashed my knee, it really hurt."
She admitted that the accident had caused tension with director Jon Favreau, who thought she was playing the diva with her complaints.
The 35-year-old said: "I kept exercising and running around in the movie. Then it really started to expand. In one scene I'm running away from Ironmonger - the bad Iron Man - and I said to Jon, 'My knee is really hurting, I don't know how many times I can do this.' He was rolling his eyes, saying 'you're fine'.
"But I went to the doctor and I had a fracture so bad they had to do surgery the next day. They put cement in there! So I felt very smug and he apologised."
However, she added that she had yet to make a full recovery, saying: "It still doesn't feel right. I had a nerve problem. My legs don't feel the same. Sometimes it happens with surgery. If I get a wax, one leg hurts more than the other."
