Ferrera to star in 'Invisible Sign'

America Ferrera is to star in new drama An Invisible Sign Of My Own.

The Ugly Betty actress will play an obsessive-compulsive maths teacher in the film, based on the novel by Aimee Bender.

Her character finds order in numbers and attempts to communicate her passion to the seven-year-old pupils in her class.

The film marks the feature directorial debut of Marilyn Angelo, who made award-winning 2005 documentary Mad Hot Ballroom, says The Hollywood Reporter.

Ferrera will also star in new DreamWorks animated movie How To Train Your Dragon.
