Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed that she had to plead with museum bosses to return her desk and laptop from Sex And The City.

Curators at Washington's Smithsonian museum had asked for the props, which Carrie Bradshaw used when writing her columns, when the series ended in 2004.

However, the actress said she had to personally request that they be returned for use in the upcoming movie.

She told StyleList: "They only released it back after I made several personal calls.

"When it was suggested I use a replica because no one would know it a replica, I said 'I will know'. We had to have that desk - as a writer, it's an extension of you."
