Sex And The City star Chris Noth has admitted that he tried to fool journalists on the set of the movie.

The actor, who reprises his role as Carrie's boyfriend Mr. Big, said he wanted to keep fans guessing about the plot of the film.

Several alternate endings were shot in New York to throw reporters and onlookers off the scent.

He told the Glasgow Daily Record: "People were just so desperate to see what we were doing. It cracked me up.

"So we had to do a lot of fake endings and I would do things such as suddenly walking by a journalist and saying, 'Yeah, it's too bad Carrie died.'

"I said a lot of things like, 'It's all just a dream, isn't it? It is so much fun when she wakes up from the nightmare.'"

The movie had its world premiere in London on Monday.
