Weinstein Company makes 'Piranha 3-D'

The Weinstein Company is producing a remake of Joe Dante's cult horror movie Piranha.
The original movie featured a school of flesh-eating fish that is let loose in a holiday camp.
Piranha 3-D will be helmed by Alexandre Aja and is being written by Gregory Laevasseur, reports Variety.
Neville Page is working with the Weinstein group to create the 3-D piranha characters.
Speaking about the project, Bob Weinstein said: "The film presents us with a unique opportunity to launch a new global franchise and take advantage of the incredible developments in 3-D technology."
