McDermott, Caan to star in 'Mercy'

Dylan McDermott and Scott Caan have climbed aboard indie romance Mercy.

Caan will co-produce the movie from his own screenplay, reports Variety.

The project is the first from the production company he recently formed with Patrick Hoelck, who will direct.

The story revolves around a cynical writer who doesn't believe in love until he meets his ideal partner.

Alexie Gilmore, Erika Christensen, Troy Garity and John Boyd also star.

Filming begins in LA on Monday.
