Ford: 'I refused to cover grey hair'

Rex Features

Harrison Ford has revealed that he fought to keep his grey hair for the new Indiana Jones movie.

The 65-year-old said he stuck to his guns when Steven Spielberg and George Lucas urged him to dye his silver streaks for fourth instalment Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.

He is quoted as saying: "There was some early discussion about whether or not that would be a good idea. And I thought, 'Why can't Indiana Jones have grey hair? What's the difference?'

"And finally I did prevail. Look at George and Steven - a bunch of grey-haired guys. It was their idea."

Ford recently said he was surprised that he could still remember how to use his whip after 19 years away from the franchise.
