Back To The Future creator Bob Gale has ruled out the possibility of a fourth instalment in the franchise.

Gale, who produced and co-wrote the first three movies, said no sequel would go ahead without star Michael J. Fox.

He is quoted as saying: "As I'm sure you all know, Michael is not in the best of shape with his Parkinson's.

"The idea of making another Back To The Future movie without Michael J. Fox - that's like saying: 'I'm going to cook you a steak dinner and I'm going to hold the beef.' You can't do that."
