A documentary featuring rare, unseen footage of The Doors is in the works, The Hollywood Reporter says.
The band's former keyboardist Ray Manzarek said that the untitled film will detail the group's career.
"We have plans for a big Doors documentary film in the works," Manzarek said. "I saw the first cut of it yesterday, and it's looking real good. But that won't be out 'til another six months."
Manzarek added that the film would present a different view of the group from Oliver Stone's 1991 biopic The Doors.
"This is the anti-Oliver Stone. This will be the true story of The Doors," he explained.
The Doors formed in 1965 but split following the death of their lead singer Jim Morrison in 1972. The group reformed briefly in 1978, 2001 and 2003. Notable hits include 'The End', 'Break On Through' and 'Riders On The Storm'.
