Cattrall snubs 'disappointed' Parker

Rex Features

Sarah Jessica Parker has admitted that she was "disappointed" when Kim Cattrall initially refused to star in the Sex And The City film.

Speaking to Metro, the 43-year-old said: "You have to respect a person’s decision. Were we disappointed? Yes. But would I, as a producer, have made the movie without her? No. Would I have made it without Cynthia [Nixon] or Kristin [Davis] or Chris Noth? No."

Parker added that there was no animosity towards Cattrall for holding up production on the film.

"A person has to be allowed to say 'no' to a movie," she said. "It was important to me that we all be together, and we told a story everybody wanted to tell. I could not wait to send the first email to Kim to say: 'We have a green light. We are making this movie and I will see you at the table read.'"

Sex And The City was released in the UK yesterday.
