Newton, Glover added to '2012' cast

Thandie Newton and Danny Glover have landed roles in disaster epic 2012.

According to Empire, Glover will play the president, with Newton as his daughter. Oliver Platt will star as the president's chief of staff.

It was confirmed last month that John Cusack and Chiwetel Ejiofor would appear in the film. Roland Emmerich is helming the movie, which begins shooting next month.

The film is scheduled for released in July 2009.
