The British actor, whose previous credits include Rambo and Resident Evil: Extinction, will play a member of the British Special Forces in the Michael Bay-directed film, reports MTV.
Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Isabel Lucas and Rainn Wilson are already confirmed for the cast.
Filming began in Pennsylvania on Monday.
Transformers 2 is scheduled for release on June 26, 2009.
