BEI/Rex Features
The film will be based on a comedy skit written by Rogen and Evan Goldberg that appeared on YouTube last year.
The movie will feature Rogen and Baruchel, both stars of last summer's Knocked Up, having to deal with the end of the world.
Mandate Pictures secured the rights to the project after fending off competition from several other high-profile production companies.
Baruchel will next be seen in Ben Stiller's war comedy Tropic Thunder.
Rogen is currently working on The Green Hornet and an episode of The Simpsons with writing partner Goldberg.
