Warner Bros signs Clooney for 'Tourist'

George Clooney will lead the cast of Warner Bros spy thriller The Tourist, reports Variety.

Anthony Peckham, the screenwriter behind Clint Eastwood's upcoming Human Factor, will adapt Olen Steinhauer's novel for the studio.

Described as a spy thriller in the vein of John le Carre, The Tourist revolves around an intelligence agent who unveils a conspiracy while fighting to clear his name for a murder he didn't commit.

Clooney will also serve as a producer on the film with his Smoke House production company partners Grant Heslov and Nina Wolarsky.
