'Inbetweeners' movie is emotional, says director

The Inbetweeners Movie will see the series bow out in a "sentimental" way, the film's director Ben Palmer has claimed.

Palmer - who also worked on Bo' Selecta - said that The Inbetweeners Movie will be geared more towards emotion in the film's final chapter.

"There's more of a sentimental, coming-of-age feel that the series never had. We never allowed sentimentally in the show apart from the last little spot in the final episode," he told The Daily Telegraph.

"However much they take the p*ss out of each other, the boys are a very tight-knit group and we've had fun exploring that more in the film."

Streets frontman Mike Skinner has recorded ten brand new songs for the movie.

The Inbetweeners Movie opens in cinemas on August 19.
