Ending months of rumours and speculation, creators Iain Morris and Damon Beesley have revealed that the comedy sequel will open in UK cinemas in August 2014.
"We couldn't be more excited to be making another Inbetweeners movie with Simon, Joe, James and Blake," Morris and Beesley said in a joint statement.
"Frankly it's pathetic how much we've all missed each other. A new chapter in the lives of the Inbetweeners feels like the very least we can do to thank the fans for their phenomenal response to the first movie."
The film will shoot later this year with central quartet Will (Simon Bird), Jay (James Buckley), Neil (Blake Harrison) and Simon (Joe Thomas) reuniting for a new big-screen adventure.
Film4 and Channel 4 will co-finance and produce the movie through Bwark Productions.
The Inbetweeners Movie grossed more than £41 million at the UK box office in summer 2011, outperforming summer blockbusters such as Cowboys & Aliens and Prince of Persia.
