'Home & Away's Indiana Evans, Thwaites to star in 'Blue Lagoon' remake

Two actors from Home and Away have been cast in a remake of The Blue Lagoon.

Indiana Evans and Brenton Thwaites, who played Matilda Hunter and Stu Henderson in the Australian soap, will take on the roles of Emmeline and Richard first made famous by Brooke Shields and Christopher Atkins in 1980.

According to The Daily Telegraph, filming is scheduled to start later this month in Puerto Rico. The movie will reportedly still tell the story of a boy and a girl marooned on a desert island together.

Evans quit her role in Home and Away in July 2008 and has since starred in shows such as The Strip, H2O: Just Add Water and Crownies.

Thwaites' character Stu has recently been involved in a domestic violence storyline as he attacked girlfriend Sasha Bezmel on a number of occasions. The teenager will also be involved in a forthcoming major plotline which airs this month in Australia and during March in the UK.

Milla Jovovich and Brian Krause also reprised the roles in 1991 movie Return to Blue Lagoon.
