The Fighter star served as the HBO series's executive producer during its eight-year run. He revealed that he is hopeful the show will return for a film.
"It better happen," Wahlberg told People. "We're working on [a movie] as we speak."
The actor went on to say that the show's recent series finale leaves everything "teed up for a movie."
Finally, Wahlberg revealed that Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) decided to accept the job offer he received in the finale.
"The dream job he got offered is too good to pass up," he explained.
In July, Entourage creator Doug Ellin confirmed that a movie of the series is definitely in the works.
Wahlberg revealed last year that he would like to make a movie set after the show's series finale, saying that there are still stories to tell.
